Today has sucked for me and a lot of peeps…
So. Going to concentrate on positive things that happened today:
- Applied to a legit graphic design position
- Posted resume on Monster
- Found out on Monster, you can list “Cat Acrobatics” as an interest
- Baked some delish chicken without ANY guidance
- Got the statistics worked out for what a job in my field should pay
- Finished updating my web portfolio.

The secret to Costco’s success is paying employees well, providing benefits, and giving them an opportunity to unionize.So large corporations’ excuses that treating & paying workers well would damage profits are all a crock of shit.
I went to Costco on a Sunday and the woman checking the receipts was strangely happy so I asked her why. ‘Cuz we get paid overtime for working on Sundays and the store is only open for 8 hours anyway.’

About a month ago you asked if you could have a “circle mohawk” again. I told you to think about it because you’ve been growing your hair out for so long and I didn’t want you to regret it. On Sunday night I told you I had a hair appointment with Allison the next day. You asked if you could get your hair cut like that again, but you were laying down for bed and not supposed to be talking so I ignored you. The next day you asked twice, so I finally said I didn’t care and that you look beautiful whatever you decide. The last time your hair was like this you weren’t in school yet, I was so nervous about kids being cruel. I walked you to school on Tuesday morning and stayed awhile to make sure everything was going to go smoothly, which it did. When I picked you up you said, “Olivia liked my hair. She said she didn’t want her hair like this, but she liked mine like this. And we’re still friends. That’ just like how I don’t want to have purple hair like Allison, but I love Allison’s purple hair. You don’t have to have all the same stuff as your friends.” Wise beyond your years, baby child. I’m so proud of you and how you have the courage to be exactly who you want to be, despite any other outside influences. While we’re on the topic of gender, when I was at parent teacher conferences a few months ago a mom of this little boy approached me. She told me how he wanted to paint his nails and go to school. She let him. When he came home he said, “Scarlet loved my nails, Mom!” I’ve never been so proud.

Just found out some terrible news. Trying to stay calm and focus on what I need to focus on, but its so hard. I guess I can categorize this as a “learning moment” on not to worry and freak out. Really could use some positive vibes though…
I thought you should know…
So I had this random customer at work. He was very lovely and polite and when I brought him his food, he told me that every day he prayed for someone he met that day before he ate. He asked me if there was anything specific he would like me to pray for about myself.
What an amazing philosophy. For a complete stranger to send you good vibes. It might be something I would like to take on. Or not even strangers, but choose someone everyday to think about for a moment. Send them good vibes. Life is so hard and short at times. It lacks a lot of the good energies. Some times it drags you down and you feel it can’t go on. But it does. Good and bad. I know I am reflecting at 3am in the morning, but all the people I have met, physically or not, have inspired me. Maybe I would not be the same person I am today. I know I am just ranting now, but I want to be one of those people who sends more positive than negative into the world.
So for you, have a wonderful day. Have a fucking amazing, fantastic day. Because I thought of you. Seriously. The random bloggers I follow (hell I even met one in real life and now we are amazing friends), the random stranger on the street, or the friends that are always with me encouraging me. Thank you.
